Daily Use:
Grip and Handling: Hold the paddle with one hand on the top T-grip and the other midway down the shaft. Your arms should form a relaxed "V" shape for efficient strokes.
Paddling Technique: Use your core to power the stroke, not just your arms. Engage your body to propel the board forward, keeping strokes close to the board for stability.
Adjusting Paddle Length: Make sure your paddle is adjusted to the correct length. For general SUP activities, set the paddle height to about 6–8 inches above your head.
Maintenance:
Rinse After Use: Always rinse the paddle with fresh water after each use, especially if you’ve used it in saltwater. Salt can corrode parts and degrade materials over time.
Dry Before Storage: After rinsing, let the paddle air dry completely before storing it. This prevents mold, rust, and other forms of damage.
Inspect for Damage: Regularly check for any cracks or splits in the blade or shaft. Small issues can often be fixed with epoxy, but larger damages may require professional repair or replacement.
Storage: Store the paddle in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight to avoid UV damage, which can weaken the material over time.
Proper usage and consistent maintenance will extend the life of your SUP paddle, ensuring it remains reliable and effective for your paddleboarding adventures.
